Patricia Saunders Mitchell was born January 2, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, to James Saunders and Grace Pitts.  She passed away at age 72, February 19, 2020 @ 5:30 am due to a chronic illness. Patricia grew up in Steubenville, Ohio, reared with her 8 siblings by her father and step mother James and Lucille Saunders. After she graduated from Winterville Memorial High School (Go Warriors!!) in 1967, She attended Job Corp in St. Louis, Missouri. This is where she also met James Mitchell Sr. at a local sock hop.  On April 10, 1969 she married James Mitchell in St. Lois, Missouri.  Patricia moved with her husband to Ruston, La to Mitcham Peach Farm; where she stayed with James’s family while he went to serve in Vietnam.  After James returned from Vietnam, Pat, as many called her, and James moved to Summerfield, La, to a small community called Mount Sinai. This is where she met Br. and Sis. Frank Turner and Gloria Foster; who reintroduced her to bible truths. After diligent studies, James and Pat dedicated their lives to being a Jehovah Witness in 1974.

Even though James would eventually step away from his dedication to Jehovah, Pat faithfully continued serving and teaching her children about Jehovah for more than 45 years. She loved teaching bible study to young and old.

In 1998 Pat, with her eldest daughter Wanda, moved from Summerfield, La to Tacoma, WA to be closer to her sons James, Kenneth and Adam.
Patricia ‘s servant heart loved to sew, paint, read, and knit making custom made gifts for family and friends. Pat worked in retail in customer service. She was known for her beaming smile and calming manner.  Even when she didn’t feel well, she managed to camouflage her discomfort with a cloak of well-being so that you wouldn’t feel worry.   Her grandchildren’s visits swelled her heart with love and high hopes for their futures.  They would often talk about their love and sadness when it became apparent that she was not well.  They would also delight themselves in her big hugs and broad smiles.
