A Beautiful Life Remembered

Edwina Delores McKnight 59, of Tacoma passed November 19, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones. Edwina was born February 16, 1961 in Manhattan, New York to Bertha Lee McKnight. She began her journey to Seattle, Washington in her early teens to live with her uncle John McKnight, after her mother’s passing. She attended Mercer Middle and Franklin High School in Seattle. Her beautiful personality and radiating smile will never be forgotten. She was hardworking, loving, and had a very humorous personality. Her strength and independence shined through her personality.  She loved to cook and was very family oriented. She also had a strong passion for giving back to the community and spent a majority of time cooking and volunteering at Peace Lutheran Church as a community member.

Edwina is preceded in death by her mother Bertha Lee and her Uncles John and Jake McKnight. Edwina is survived by her children: Latisha and Crystal Miller, Jazmyn Ryan, Dezmyn Trent, Mhar’Sulah Trent, Monae McKnight-Trent. Sisters: Laverne and Rosita McKnight. Nephews: Raymel Curry & Jason Curry-McKnight. Grandchildren: Jonae Brown, Richard McNeair, Johnny Brown Jr., Dezmyn McKnight, Desihri Bostick, Anthony Lambert, Analeia Bostick. Great Grandson: Jah’Reice Santos-McNeair.
