Ninus Hopkins Jr.

Ninus “Hop” Hopkins Jr. was a loving, caring, and generous soul that welcomed everyone into his “House of Love.”  Born May 1, 1945 in Seattle, WA,  to Ninus Hopkins Sr. and Mary Tucker. Ninus grew up in the Central District and attended Garfield High School were he played basketball, and graduated in 1963.

Ninus worked for Access Transportation for 33 years where he played a vital role as a driver, proud union representative, and Executive Board Officer. Throughout retirement, he continued to practice his union voice, advocating for safe working conditions, fair wages, and employee training.

Ninus’ laughter, jokes, and rhymes (termed as “isms of wisdom”) will be dearly missed. His gift of game, and life lessons will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Hopkins, children: Robin, Otis, Eric, and Mona; along with a village of grandchildren ,  great-grandchildren and friends.

We love you Papa, and will honor you daily.
