Blasttner Ray was born to Kathrine Linder Humburgs and John L. Humburgs on February 9th,1941 in Alanta, Georgia. Blasttner was raised in a Pentecostal home she accepted Christ at the age of 16 as her Lord and savior. She was diligent in her walk with God, she was a member of The Church of God in Christ. She served under the late Bishop Robert Edward Sr, at Edwards Temple COGIC where she held many positions. She and her late husband Elder James Ray Sr. also established a church: Consolation Chapel COGIC where she also served faithfully. They moved to Seattle, Washington where Blasttner attended Upper Room COGIC under the leadership of the late Superintendent Kelly Easter. While on her walk with the Lord she returned to Tacoma, Washington and returned as a member of Edwards Temple Memorial COGIC. Where she served under the leadership of Superintendent Joseph C. Edwards. A faithful woman of God indeed.
Blasttner served her community in the compacity of a school board member and worked for the Head Start Program. Mother Ray largest commitment was as a prayer warrior, all the way until the end of her journey. Her door was always open to whomever needed a place to stay, eat, shower, or receive prayer. If you did not know Jesus upon meeting Mother Ray it was for sure that you knew him by the time you left her presence as, she prayed many souls into the kingdom of the Lord. Mother Ray was the Prayer warrior for our family. She prayed Gods blood covering over every one of her children and grandchildren. Her one request was that we all knew Jesus as our Lord and Savior so that we could make it into Heaven.
Granny, Tina, Mother Ray will be missed a great deal by her family, and those who loved her.
Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant.
