Bruce St. George Edwards Esq

Bruce St. George Edwards Esq was born in Moneague, Jamaica, West Indies to Mrs. Ruby Melvina Edwards and Mr. Adrian Augustus Edwards. He was the second child of five boys: His older brother, Master Richard Anthony Edwards, younger brothers in order: Professor H. Michael Edwards, Kenneth Edwards, Clarence Alfred Edwards.

His quest as a life-long learner was incubated as the son of prominent educators who served as principals of Frankfield Primary School at different times. He migrated initially to Canada to attend university. After his studies, he married Hazel May Edwards in Jamaica and the couple moved to New York where 2 years later they had a baby girl, Tanya Samantha Edwards. Subsequently, they moved to Canada where they completed their undergraduate studies. Next, the couple attended law school in Tacoma, Bruce went further to achieve a Master’s in Law from Boston University.

His favorite poem to recite through wellness and dementia was the following excerpt from William Shakespeare:

“Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;
Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.”

The passion with which he spouted the above was mirrored in his drive to help people both in this earthly domain; and as is journaled by him “to help them spend eternity in heaven with God”. As he found eternal rest in heaven on March 10, 2022, he leaves behind his wife, Attorney Hazel May Edwards, daughter Dr. Tanya Edwards, brother Professor H. Michael Edwards, brother Teacher Kenneth Edwards, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  1. Paul Schlossman says:

    Thanks to Bruce St George next door neighbor in Tacoma who studied with me for the 1999 bar exam and as he was already an established lawyer guided me thru it in a cold winter where it rained 90 days straight
