Cornell Kirkland
Cornell Kirkland passed away quietly on January 12th, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born June 26th, 1938 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Curtis and Sarah Kirkland. He bravely served his country by enlisting in the Army. After his commitment to the armed forces ended, he became a school teacher for k-12 education. Mr. Kirkland was proud of his accomplishments in education. His gifts of administration and organization caused him to excel in both the armed services and in education.
After retiring he lived a quiet life. He married the love of his life Birtie Kirkland and lived in wedded bliss until he passed into the arms of his savior Jesus Christ. He was a proud member of Masonic lodge #17, Allen AME Church and Shiloh Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his precious wife Birtie, son Ryan (Carina) Kirkland. Grandchildren Traci Kirkland, Nicole Boden Thomas, Franklin Lester, and Terrence Kirkland. Great-grand children Chantel Kirkland, Mya Kirkland, Deonte Williams, and Jackson Thomas.
Masonic Services will be held on Thursday evening January 24th at 7pm. Celebration of his life and memory Friday January 25th at 11am. Both services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church 1211 S I St, Tacoma, WA 98405
