Beloved husband, son, brother, dad, and papa, Doug Stanley passed away peacefully at home in Tacoma, WA on Thursday March 5, 2020. Doug was born on August 29th, 1948, in Wallace, ID to Roger and Arline Stanley.

Doug graduated from Wallace High School in 1966. After graduating, he joined the Army Reserves.
Doug married the love of his life, Linda Stanley, on January 31, 1973. They built their life in Wallace raising their four children.

Doug enjoyed everything about the Silver Valley. He especially enjoyed camping and hunting at the Stanley Cabin in Slate Creek and then the Stanley Ranch on the St. Joe. You could find Doug playing music around the Silver Valley with his band “One Gun and the Long Shots”.
Doug worked on the police force for Shoshone County and for the City of Wallace, the Galena and Bunker Hill Mining Companies, Segale Construction Company in Auburn, WA, and retired from Biggy Construction Company in Auburn, WA.

Doug and Linda moved to Washington in 1991.
Doug is survived by his wife Linda of Tacoma, WA, his mother Arline of Silverton, ID, his children Matt (Katie) Stanley of Chesaw, WA, Sis (Tim) Little of Pinehurst, ID, Ralph Ellison of Pinehurst, ID, and Lonny Ellison of Wallace, ID, his grandkids Josh, Nick, Aubrey, TJ, Shelby, Austin, Kristin, Lacey, and Averie, his 10 great-grandkids, his brothers Robin (Leslee) Stanley of Silverton, ID, Bill (Eileen) Stanley of Wallace, ID, and Gary Stanley of Silverton, ID, numerous nieces and nephews, his 100+ songs, 50+ guns, 20+ guitars, 10+ amps, and too many “Best Friends” to name. A special thank you to a great friend Ron Austin, his daily Fox News watching, coffee drinking buddy for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his dad Roger Stanley, two brothers Steve and Lance Stanley, and one sister Sheila McIntyre.

There will be a celebration of Doug’s life this summer at the Stanley Ranch.
Doug and Linda would appreciate any donations in his name to be made to The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in Seattle, WA and Meals on Wheels in the Silver Valley.
