Eric Johnson known and loved by friends and family as “Eazy E” was born June 26th 1965 to Jimmy Mae Harrington- Johnson and Jesse Johnson at Valley General hospital in Renton Washington. He grew up in Kent on East Hill along with siblings: Christopher “Cricket”, Lonnie, Teen, Jesse Jr, Synthina, Carolyn, Fannie, Michael, and Tyrone. Eric was an adventurous child. He loved to ride bikes and perform dare devil stunts. He was amongst the younger of the crew and always followed behind his older brothers and sisters. The family moved from Kent to the central district of Seattle in the year of 1977. Eazy was intrigued by the pace of the city. He was determined to grow up fast!
In 1979 he met the love of his life Barbara Webber and became a father to Desiree Loretta Webber at the tender age of fifteen. The young couple welcomed their second child Jasmine Markita Webber September 7th 1988. Eazy’s love for people was infectious. He embraced everyone. He referred to people from all walks of life as niece or nephew. He had many unique sayings that folks around him loved to imitate “Ya heard me!” He loved music and was a dancing machine! He had a signature move that he performed at every event for about thirty years! He also loved to barbeque and was a beast on the grill! He called himself a “Que-ologist.” He enjoyed playing dominoes, drinking Hurricane beer, western movies, football, taking long walks around the neighborhood, which he called “walk abouts”, and most importantly his family. He would always say “I wouldn’t be where I am today, if it weren’t for my family.” Eazy is no longer present with us in the flesh, but his spirit will remain in our hearts forever. His contagious smile, quotes, dance moves, laughter, love, and gratitude will live on for many generations to come.
