Gone But Not Forgotten

 Gregory was born in Englewood, NJ on August 26, 1966.  The son of Ann B. Mumford (Petty) and late Ferdinand E. Simmons. He was  educated in the Tacoma Public School System. As a young boy he was active in boxing  and football at the Tacoma Boys Club of Tacoma. He had certifications in construction trades and was a professional drywaller.
One of his passions was cooking and had a small business cooking soul food and a few bar n grills in the Tacoma area. As a child he was baptized at the Central Church of Christ located on 14th and L Street in Tacoma.

He leaves to cherish his memory,  his son, Gregory Erick Simmons Jr., his daughter, Ericka Simmons, and three grandchildren, his children’s mother, Aliec Carter-Standley, his mother, Ann B. Mumford (Petty) and C.T. Mumford (deceased), his sister, La-Gina Simmons, all of Tacoma,  WA, his sister, Colette Wiggins-Hall and her four daughters, all of Jamaica Queens, NY, his step-father,  Glenn Davis of South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles and cousins and friends.

Services for Gregory Simmons Sr. will be held 11am,  January 7th, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home.
