Sister Janet Anderson, oldest daughter of the late Walter and Christell Durr was born August 30, 1956 in Bassfield, Mississippi, and went home to the Lord on November 7, 2024 in Pierce County, Washington. Janet was highly qualified and received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her stellar career as a Wealth Manager. She was a Five Star Wealth Award Winner in 2017, 2019-2020, 2022- 2023. She also received the Ameriprise Ultimate Digital Excellence Award in 2021. Through Ameriprise’s annual giving campaign, Janet supported several foundations, including Goldstar Wives, United Way of Pierce County, and Susan G. Coleman for the Cure and Wounded Warrior Project. In her free time, Janet loved spending it with her grandson Victor, who was the light of her life. Janet was a lifelong learner, engulfed in her craft as a talented published Author. This passion for written expression was exhibited in her love of God and Church. She enjoyed attending church services and was a long-time member of Altheimer Memorial Church of God in Christ, where she sang in the choir, played her clarinet, and orchestrated many plays that touched the lives of those around her. She loved the lord and leaves us with a legacy of endurance and faith in God Janet celebrated her 50th High School reunion with the class of 1974, reuniting with childhood friends and loved ones. Janet was a published author and our family historian; she would visit her mother, Christell Durr’s hometown, Bassfield, MS, and trace her steps and experiences to pass those memories on to her family through storytelling and photography. She also loved visiting our scenic Pacific Northwest
waterfront and exploring specialty shops and museums. Janet was preceded in death by her late husband, Albert Anderson, parents, Walter L. Durr and Christell L. Durr, and sons Dante Adams and David Allen Wright Jr. Survivors include siblings Van Allen Durr &, Wendy Carrington,
Hatty Faye Walker, Pennalvia Durr-Jones & Nathan Jones, grandson, Victor Allen Wright, nieces and nephews, Jeramie, Johnny, T.C., Briyana, Jessica, Christell, Zoe, Delano, Dakotah, Shawn, Noah, Aaron, Preston, Briana, their respective children and numerous cousins and dear
friends. She gave love and kindness to everyone she met; we will miss her dearly.
