Joseph White Almeida (Joe) peacefully passed on January 13, 2020 in Yakima, Washington at the age of 61 years old. Joe is survived by his siblings, Rufina A. Lujan, Elizabeth A. (Don) Mack, Thomas W. (Wanda) Almeida, Roke W. Almeida, Theodore W. (Pat) Almeida, Arthur W. (Rosanne) Almeida, Beata A. (Roland) Borro, Peter W. Almeida, Terry A. (Anthony) Palomo (deceased), Girard W. Almeida, Bertha J. Almeida (Widow of brother Raymond W. Almeida).

Many nephews and nieces he loved very much, cousins and his Auntie Rose (Chai) W. Sablan. Joe is also survived by his dear friend and roommate of many years Eleanor Okada, niece Nel Cruz, sister Biba and their special dog Caesar.

Joe is preceded in death by his father Rodolfo A. Almeida, loving mother Esther W. Almeida, brothers Rudy W. Almeida, Raymond W. Almeida, nephews Joseph A. Lujan, Anthony P. Almeida. Brother in law Anthony P. Palomo and Reared father Thomas Okada.

Joe was born in Tamuning Guam, raised and attended school in Mangilao Guam, Joe went to live with his Auntie Chai in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated high school. Joe had various jobs over the years. When he met Thomas and Eleanor Okada in 1996, they brought him to Los Angles and they employed him as a administrative assistant / driver for The Guam Medical referral office in Los Angles California. In 2003 Joe with the Okada’s moved to Las Vegas. Joe was involved in church throughout his life, he volunteered as a Eucharist Minister and Usher. Joe Loved cooking for family and friends. Joe loved joking with his family and friends.

In 2004 Joe went to work for Mandalay Bay MGM Resorts in Las Vegas  and worked in the convention / banquets as a  set up porter until his stroke in July 2017. Joe was very loved and respected by his family, his reared family the Okada/Alferos’,  friends and coworkers alike. We love you Joseph the lord has you in his arms where you will rest for eternity. You are gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

A Catholic service with Father Tuan and celebration of life will be held on January 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM 1601 South L Street Tacoma Washington 98405. Reception following. People are welcome to arrive after 10:00 AM.
