Lucious “Big Lou” Brown was Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 30, 1969. He departed this earthly life on October 29, 2023, surrounded and supported by his loving wife, children friends, and extended family.

He was a faithful member of the community. Educating was his passion as evidenced by, his mottos, “each one, teach one”, meaning “When I teach you, you can teach someone else.”  His love for children and helping  led him to supervise a latch key program at Mccarver Elementary school. He later moved on to be a supervisor at YMCA’s across Washington Late Nite Program. He founded Club Venim Youth Basketball and Youth Dance Team in 2000. He and his wife started an after-school learning program “A Time to Learn” in 2005. The last 13 years he spent coaching boys’ and girls’ basketball at TAF at Saghalie Middle School.

Lucious is survived by his beautiful wife of 29 years (September 17, 1984)  , Sashi Brown, who has been his best friend for 36  years. His children Aache Sharail Brown (29), Lucious Hjahbrrie Brown (27), Shawndriea Tamarra Brown (24), Loohche Suerreina Brown (19), and Sequkarindu T’Challa Brown (18) , his (mother) Brenda Brown and his sister Tara Olgeltree, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, cousins and friends that he has made along the way.

Services will be held 11am, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Allen AME.

    Sending My Prayers, Blessings & Condolences to All of You. I Have Many Fond Memories of “Big Lou”, The Big Smile on his & His Mother’s Face when I gave him his First Letterman’s Jacket and watching.
