Remembering Tiffony

Tiffony Renee Ponder 43, of Tacoma, WA, passed away unexpectedly on 4 February 2025. She was born on September 15, 1981, in Fort Pierce, FL at Fort Pierce Memorial hospital to Willie and Shirley Ponder. A devoted single mother, Tiffony is survived by her two beloved daughters, RaeAshanique Peterson, 24, and Miss’e Peterson, 20. Her children and family were the light of her life, and she dedicated herself to providing them with love, guidance, laughter, and support.
Tiffony was known for her kindness, resilience, feisty personality, and corky sense of humor, which endeared her to all who knew her. She had a passion for crafting, painting, and caring for animals, and she shared this love with her daughters, creating lasting memories together.
Professionally, Tiffony was what we called a “Jack of all trades”. She has held several positions in the service industry, but she excelled in her profession in the cosmetology field of service. Her friends and family remember her as a smart and innovative person who made a significant impact in the field of cosmetology. She had a natural talent for making people look beautiful and handsome. She prided herself in her creative talent to make people look their best.

In addition to her daughters, Tiffony is survived by her parents, Willie Ponder and Shirley Niblack; her siblings, Genine Green-Granger, Willie Ponder III, and Aramis Ponder; her step fathers Melvin Johnson and Wayne Clemmons; her step brothers Maquis Bradford Johnson and Nate Bradford, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Quinton Ponder, grandparents Jesse and Betty Gilchrist, Willie and Martha Ponder Sr., and Uncle, Donnie Gilchrist.

A viewing will be held on Sunday  16 February at Scott Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m. A funeral service to honor Tiffony’s life will be held on 17 February at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church.
