Willie James Hughes
December 18, 1951 ~ January 10, 2021

Willie James Hughes was born December 18, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Hughes and Annie Hughes. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Alex Toussaint in Los Angeles, CA. Willie Hughes graduated from Manual Arts High School. He graduated from Whittier College with a BS in finance and graduated with MBA at Chapman College. Willie Hughes moved to Washington State in 1979. He immediately joined Mt. Zion MBC in Parkland, Washington under Reverend Dr. Paul Warren Sr. he was a deacon for 30 years, outreach coordinator, and part of the men’s ministry. Willie Hughes was an accountant (CPA, CMA, CPM), community REP business finance and busines development. He was employed with the following companies for over 35 years: Honeywell, Bell Howell, Sundstrand Data, Alliant Tech Enterprise, Level Asset Protection. Mr. Hughes was past president of Redmond Jayces Board member, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Rotary.

In 1996 he was Father of the year for YMCA. Willie’s mission statement was to educate pastors, churches, business, families and individuals to higher spiritual and financial freedom. He enjoyed reading, writing, teaching, travelling, and serving others.
He leaves his sons Willie Preston, William Princeton, Brian (Jasmine). Daughter Shannon Hughes. Four siblings Gwendolyn Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Clifford (Marinetta) Hughes and Nathan Hughes.
Special Friends Charles Flannigan and Richard (Charlene) Davidson Jenkins. The family would like to thank Davita Staff in Kent, WA. Dr. Nilo Santos, Dr. Ho Lee, Dr. Ray Dent and Dr. Jonathan Wright. Special thanks Dr. Weber (Adrienne) Moreland, Apostle Minnie Van Sapp Burton, Apostle Jimmie (Latasha) James, Minister Reggie (Sharon) Berry, Minister Tommy Anderson, Tommy Ellis, , Robert Cann, Calvin Dillard, Rick Brown, Dorothy McCloud, Ricky Young, Jennifer Carlson, and Jaquina Shanah, Carolyn Kinnebrew and Bernice Upton.

Viewing, Friday January 22, 2021 12pm-4pm at Scott Funeral Home.

His final resting place will be in Inglewood Park Cemetery, 720 East Florence Avenue in Inglewood, California
