Cynthia Marie Jamal

Cynthia Marie Jamal was born December 13, 1952 in Seattle, Washington to Ross and Maxie Fleming. She went home to be with our Lord on March 22, 2018.

Cynthia graduated from Franklin High School. She went on to study sociology at Washington State University. Cynthia married Kidojo Jamal in 1980 by whom she had her two boys an one girl.

Cynthia better, known to many as Ms. Jenkins, was a character like her name suggests. No matter what challenges life threw at her, or how many hours she may have spent in dialysis on a given day, the joy in her heart never went dim. She would tell the most animated stories, and could get anyone to smile or laugh. She brought life to every party. Her light shone brightly, and will continue to do so through each of her children and grandchildren.

She was a mother to many, and her gift for nurturing life was evidence in her green thumb. She could make any plant grow. For those blessed enough to be seeds in her garden, they were nurtured with an endless amount of love, support, and wisdom. Free of judgment, full of grace, she encouraged her children to pursue their wildest dreams, and her spirit will be a beacon of hope eternally.

Cynthia, has joined her son Ilyas, resting in the arms of the Lord. She is survived by children Jumaani and Maxie Jamal, and her grandchildren Jumaani Jr. and Ilyas Jamal Jr. She also leaves a sixteen brothers and sister and a host of nieces and nephews.
