Obituary

Talibah Zakiya Muhammad was born Taniesha Unique Ervin in Detroit, Michigan, on May 4, 1985.  She is the second-born child of five to Marian Goodin-Muhammad (Shani Abbeba) and Hashim (Timothy Muhammad).

Growing up, she was exposed to three educational systems. First, she was home-schooled by her mother; second, she attended the Tacoma Public Schools; and third, she attended and graduated from Aisha Shule, and African-centered poems. She participated in many African-centered community programs, helping to introduce Africa culture to her peers.

After graduation, Talibah returned to Tacoma, Washington, and her life took a beautiful turn. She me Spencer Abrom, and their love was a testament to their shred journey, which was further enriched by the birth of their first precious child, Qyryana.  Although the journey ended, their love for their child endured.

Several years later, Talibah’s heart was renewed with love. She met and married Morris Dixon.  Three precious children were born to this union: Qar’Mah, Roman and Kingston, their only son.  Although the trials and tribulations overcame the marriage, the separation did not overcome their shared love for their children.

Talibah’s journey was a testament to her unwavering determination and strength as a single mother.  From Detroit to Atlanta and back to Tacoma, Washington, her relocations were driven by her relentless pursuit of a safe and loving environment for herself and her children. Her resilience in the face of challenges is truly inspiring.

Determined to provide for her child, Talibah went to work as a Leasing Manager.  She would show apartments and rental properties to prospective customers, provide customer services to tenants, and monitor the quality and cleanliness of properties. She did this for the love of her children.

Talibah’s life was centered around her love for her children. She cherishes them like God would have us love, protect, and cherish one another. They were her world in this life and will be her world in the afterlife.
