Obituary
Vertisel known as Corky was born to Celia Lee Isaac and Vertisel Isaac on June 7, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington.
Vertisel departed this life February 24, 2023. He received Christ and was baptized November 2, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church in Tacoma, Washington.
Vertisel had an outgoing personality and got along with everyone he met. He loved to laugh and was the life of the party. Corky loved fishing with family and friends especially with his nephew, Jerry, friends Dave and Joey and cousin Jo Jo. Needless to say that must have been a boat full of laughter with that group. Shortly after they’d return from the lake, the fish fry was on! Corky would scale, clean and prepare the fish in 2.2 seconds; he was fast. The “Whoyawit” chips were hot right out of the pan and on point. If you don’t know about the “whoyawit” chips, you better ask somebody.
He missed his calling as a comedian, but made his own stage whenever there were family gatherings. He would have everyone in tears and holding their sides from laughter. He would add to the mix some of his favorite songs by Jodeci. Another one of Corky’s antics was giving you a special nickname. So you knew if you were one of those individuals you held a special place in his heart.
Vertisel enjoyed attending service at Peace Lutheran Church where he had a special bond with Pastor John. Everyone knew his favorite saying was “whoyawit”. Now Corky we’re asking Who are you with, we know you are with Jesus.
Vertisel is proceeded in death by his mother, Celia Lee Isaac, father, Vertisel Isaac, brother Benjamin Isaac and special nephew Londale Petty.
Vertisel was the fourth of seven children.
