Purvis Rasean Taylor, a Professional Chef and life-long resident of Tacoma, WA, died unexpectedly on July 15th, 2021 at the age of 45. ‘P’ was born on June 21st, 1976 to Barbara Taylor and Larry Moore in Lake city, Florida. At a young age he moved to Tacoma, Washington and began working as a chef for a plethora of high and low end companies before settling at The Tacoma Dome and Stanley and Seaforts, where he would go on to work for over 25 years. On July 23rd, 2002 he had his first child, And would go on to have two other children on November 9th, and February 8th. He valued, loved, and cared about his family and friends more than anything. P was a giving and caring individual, and he made all who met him feel welcomed and loved. He was known for having others’ best interest at heart and anyone could stay with him if they needed a roof over their head. He enjoyed hard work and was an incredibly charismatic and reliable worker, who made friends and a solid impression on everyone he met. Anything but a suit and tie kind of person he was someone to feel at home with; spontaneous, and yet logical, he was the perfect person to go on an adventure with and could always be found working or with his many close friends. ‘P’ was an honest man, he will live on through those that loved him, and will be deeply and truly missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him ‘P’ is survived by his eldest daughter, Ra’Seana Taylor, his only son, Rikki Taylor, and his youngest child Ava Taylor; his eldest sister Tiki Jones, her husband John Jones, sisters Krista Moore and Tessa Moore-Bogerty, brother Avery Hardy, his 3 nephews, 4 nieces, 2 great nephews, and 2 great nieces.
A viewing is scheduled for 4:00.p.m. on July 22 at the Scott Funeral Home. It is a casual event to honor and commemorate the life that he lived, condolences may be offered at 1215 M.L.K Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405
