Obituary

Our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Arthur Franklin Howie Jr., affectionally known as Bubby or Art, was the eldest child of five born to the proud parents of Arthur Franklin Howie, Sr. and Kathie Howie on March 21, 1972. He was truly a miracle from God born at 2 pounds and the went down to 1 pound 9 1/2 ounces. He was so small you could hold him in the palm of your hand, but God!! He had a plan and purpose for him. He departed this life, August 17, 2024.

Bubby grew up in the West Seattle area where he went to Chief Sealth High School and attended South Seattle Community College where he studied to be a diesel mechanic. Throughout his life, Bubby was known for his friendly and outgoing nature. He had a knack for making others smile. His quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to all who crossed his path. Whether it was a witty remark or a heartfelt gesture, he had a way of brightening even the darkest days.

Bubby worked in production as a forklift driver for the last six years having stellar attendance at Isernio’s Sausage Company.

Family meant everything to Bubby. He did not have any children of his own, but he loved and adored his nieces and nephews. He spent as much time with them as could and would always try to spoil them with what he had.

Early in life, Bubby’s parent brought him South Side Temple where he learned about God and developed a love for the drums. That was his happy place to play alongside his father as he played the bongos. That love for drums never faded. Over 10 years ago, Bubby rededicated his life to the Lord and was a faithful member of Freedom Church under the leadership of Pastor Zachary Bruce. Bubby made it his mission to draw others to Christ. He was always bringing someone to church. He was involved in the 100 Men Army ministry, the Feeding Program and played the drums.

Bubby was a huge Seahawks fan and was always wearing gear from his state’s professional teams, but because of his love for the color brown and Cleveland being the birthplace of his father and grandfather, he decided to rep the Cleveland Browns too.

Bubby will be missed and leaves to cherish many loving memories, his father Arthur Franklin, Sr., his mother Kathie Lucille, his brothers: Donavon Michael, Justin Leon (Dominique), and Domonique Nikoliá and one sister Tanesha Nachelle, his godmother Carolyn Robinson, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
