Diane Eloise Johnson was born September 26, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington to Doris and Willie Carter. As a child Diane served in many facets of the church: Angel choir, Usher board, Youth choir, and was a  Baptized member of  Shiloh Baptist Church.

Diane graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976. She received her Cosmetology License from Bates Technical College in 1978.  As a Cosmetologist, Diane was known for her creative hair styles: finger waves, haircuts, styling, braids and finishing touches.

Diane created unforgettable friendships across the Hilltop/Tacoma Community. Diane could often be found surrounded by friends and family that loved and cherished her. Her smile would light up a room and her laughter could be heard for miles.

Diane is predeceased by her mother, Doris (Saffron) Hinton, her    father Willie Carter, and brother Vernon (Harryette) Flunder.                                                                                                                     Diane is survived by her daughter Isis Thompson; and grand    daughters Khalani and Nalah. Husband Wardell Johnson. Siblings Admiral (Toya) Flunder and Debrah Carter-Thompson. Nieces and nephews; LuQuam, Montoya, Julian, Sterling, Nicole and Cameron.
