Gene Baxter,

Gene Albert Baxter was born March 5th, 1934 to the late Lewis and Neesy Baxter of Greenville, South Carolina. Gene was the youngest of ten children to this union; 6 sisters and 3 brothers that proceeded him in death. Gene Baxter transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 16th, 2019.

Gene was raised and attended school in Greenville, South Carolina. He married the love of his life, Claudell Bowens in 1954. He later enlisted in the US Army and served over 20 years. He was blessed to continue in the same capacity as a Licensed Nurse in Occupational Health at Madigan Army Medical Center until his retirement. He was a member of the St. John Transformation Ministries International for 45 years. He served on the Usher Board, Finance Committee and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was also a lifetime member of Lee Grant Rogers Lodge #61 F & AM, PHA and other fraternal organizations.

He was an avid reader, especially National Geographic magazines. He enjoyed travelling with Claudell, especially cruising. He also loved golfing, fishing, playing racquetball an working in his garden.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years, Claudell Baxter of Tacoma, WA; his son Michael (Kandy) Baxter, University Place, WA; grandsons, Brandon L Baxter, Seattle, WA; Marques (Katie) Baxter, Winchester, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
