William “Bill” Pletcher, 57, of Tacoma, Washington passed away November 20, 2022.
Bill was born on November 16, 1965, in Erie, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Carlisle High School in 1984, Bill joined the United States Navy as a Seabee. He served from 1984-1990 and was immensely proud to be a member of NMCB 133. He enjoyed tours of duty in Spain, Guantanamo Bay, Okinawa and Korea. Following an honorable discharge form the Navy, Bill was a heavy equipment operator for numerous construction companies in Washington state. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 612, for over 25 years.
In 1984, Bill met Dianne in Colorado. They married in 1990, going on to have one son, Caleb. Bill loved hunting and the great outdoors. He was happiest when he was in the woods with Caleb. Bill loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dad jokes and his faithful dog, Rosie. Above all, he fiercely loved his family and friends. Family meant more to Bill than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Bill was unendingly proud of his son, Caleb and his daughter-in-law, Autumn.
Bill was predeceased by his father, John Pletcher. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, his son Caleb and daughter-in-law Autumn, his mother Beverly and two sisters, Yvonne and Debbie.
