Marcus was born to Linda Patton and WT Holland on May 23, 1979 in Morton, Texas. Marcus and his mother moved to Tacoma, WA when he was 8 months old. He later returned to Texas for a brief moment. When his mother married in 1983 he started school in District Heights Maryland. He then returned to Tacoma and attended Tyee Park Elementary, Fife Elementary, and Jr. High School. For high school he attended both Henry Foss High School and Lincoln all of Tacoma. Marcus, to know him was to love him. He loved with all his heart! Sincere Agape love. His family was everything to him but his favorite people were elders. It is no surprise that he enjoyed helping the homeless. He loved playing and watching football preferably the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed cooking, basketball, dominoes and Knock. Dogs were the love of his life. “Shadow” will miss him dearly. Marcus was a provider and protector. He wanted to save the world if he could. Peach cobbler was his specialty and the last one he made had his “Granna’s” approval so that saying something. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Georgia Holland and grandfather Willie B. Holland Sr. Aunts Vera Holland and Veloria Patton. One uncle Willie B. Holland Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory five beautiful and intelligent children. Alijah, Laesheona, Trevon, King Josiah, and Marcus DeShaun Patton Jr. (mother Ciarra Pashall) all of Tacoma, WA. One grand child A’zayvian. His special kids Jeanetta, Michaela, Theresa, Shawnathan and Jonathan. He also leaves his grand mother Christine Bell, grandfather JB Patton. Parents Linda Patton Ullah and WT Holland. Three sisters Kinequa Humphrey, Kasheena Humphrey and Jazmine Holland. Two brothers Edwin Humphrey II and Jeremy Holland. Aunts Kayla (Darryl) Alkins, Eulistine Patton, Gena Patton, Tracy Lane, all of Tacoma. Sharlet Hembrick Frisco, TX; Tina Patton Kilgore, TX. Uncles Jamie Patton of Dallas, TX and Sammy Patton of Tacoma, WA. His Godmother Santa (Cynthia) Phillips. Special friend and loved ones Loretta Davis and grandkids and Laneisha Lang.
Private funeral and burial services were held April 25, 2022.
It was good to know u man. I hate this happened. I ain’t said it but I looked at u like my big homie and looked up to u since way back and it’s weird because ur younger than me but that’s u. I ain’t the only 1 who feels that way neither. U have that affect on people of all times sizes shapes and colors. It’s a real loss to so many real people and I’m sorry for the 1s that knew u like that I know it’s kicking alot of people’s @$$ that ur gone. I hope u know what u meant to the people u embraced.
