A Beautiful Life Celebrated
Henry Christopher Melton
June 14, 1958 – February 5, 2020
We are at a loss for words to lose you. Your kindness and silliness will be missed. You were our friend, father, husband, protector, brother, uncle and business partner. Only God could have prepared us for this day. Chris was the most genuine person. Patient, kind and always respectful of others will be his lasting legacy. Chris was diligent in everything he did. He was dedicated and loyal to those fortunate to be in his life. We will forever cherish his memory.

I am so sorry to hear that Chris has passed on. I worked with him and he was a nice man. Sending my heartfelt condolences to his family and Scott Funeral Home.
My deepest sympathy to Henry’s family for this sudden and tragic loss. I will always remember his ready smile and generous nature.
Sincerely,
Jewell Folsom
I’m so sorry for all that loved Chris, for his immediate family, for all who came in contact with him, for the lives he touched. He certainly touched mine. He was a Father figure to two people I know and love very deeply. He was a pillar of the community. He knew I didn’t get out much so always let me know of great events around town. In return, I’d make him fish tacos. We’d chat because I love one of the people he took care of for 13 years. He made a difference in that individual’s life… he told me Chris was the “Only Dad I ever knew”. Chris had that effect on people. His soft demeanor, warm tone, loving voice and kind words. Just by walking in, the room was instantly more calm, more warm. His lovely suits, hats and scarves always made him look so classy. I know his family misses him deeply, as does the community at large and the people whose lives he deeply touched.
So sorry and sad to hear about Chris’ passing. He just mailed us a letter regarding the Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity cookout last month. We were all looking forward to it and visiting with him. It was supposed to be tonight, instead, his Viewing & Wake are taking place.
He is truly gone too soon.
We will all miss Henry Chris “Melton”. I always enjoyed talking about Funeral Homes, History and Embalming with him.
He would always lend a hand to those in need.
God Bless You and God Bless His family.

Chris I enjoyed our brief time working together. Taken too soon; very sad. RIP.
I just heard about this, what a great loss to the professional community of Funeral Directors. I wish I was able to hear him tell a joke one last time. My condolences to his family.
