Sunrise: November 15, 1952-Sunset: November 13, 2021

Lisa Bowman-Macklin was a dear child born to Rev. John B Owens and Dr. Edna E. Travis on November 15, 1952 in Tacoma, WA. After graduating with honors from Mount Tahoma High School in 1969, Lisa went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Western Washington University and Masters of Education degree from the University of Washington.

In her 29+ years as a prolific educator in the Seattle Public School District; Lisa began as a “resource room” specialist for students with special-needs and concluded her career as the principal of Highpoint Elementary. After retiring, Lisa founded the United Interdenominational Academy of Excellence.

Visitation November 26, 2021 – 3pm-7pm at New Covenant Pentecostal Tabernacle 2156 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2021 — 11:00 AM at Life Center Church, 1717 S. Union Street, Tacoma, WA 98405

    We loved Ms Macklin! I was just searching to see how I could connect with her and am sad to hear she has passed from this life! She was an AMAZING support to me and my girls (Reba 30 and Amanda 26) when she was their principal. My thoughts and prayers are with her family
