Morris Sylvester Smith, born March 26th, 1959, in Smithfield, North Carolina, was the third of seven children born to Don Henry Smith Sr and the late Mae Helen Smith. Upon graduation from Athens High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, in June 1979. Morris entered the United States Navy where he served as a Telecommunication Operations Specialist until his honorable discharge on October 25th, 1985. Morris continued his work as a Telecommunication Specialist within Corporate America until his retirement.
Morris is preceded in death by his mother Mae Helen Smith and his son Eric Demetris Smith. He leaves to mourn his dad, Don Smith Sr of Raleigh, North Carolina, his son, Aaron Jerome Smith of Greenville, South Carolina and his daughter, Denyul Glasper of Memphis, Tennessee and his grandchildren, Jazmyne Glasper and Jordan Mack, his brothers, Tony Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina (Jessie), Don Smith Jr of Upper Marlboro, Maryland (Melissa), Reginald Smith of Tacoma, Washington, Christopher Smith of Tacoma, Washington, sisters, Wanda Carter of Mesquite, Texas, and Maria LeGall of Celina, Texas (Raymond) and two aunts and an uncle and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Morris always adored being with family and friends, and spending time with his loving dog, Moses. Morris took great joy in cooking for family and friends. Morris was also an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed most of all, playing golf and pool.
Visitation for Mr. Morris Smith will be held 3pm to 7pm Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home 1215 MLK Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405
Services for Mr. Morris Smith will be held 1pm, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Church of the Living God
