Brittany Star Bell
Sunrise: July 26, 1984 – Sunset: March 7, 2025
There are no words that can truly hold the weight of what it means to lose Brittany Star Bell. She wasn’t just our mother — she was our home, our heart, the thread that tied us together. She loved in a way that was fierce and unrelenting, even when life tried to dim her light. She shined like a Star.
Brittany carried so much — more than most ever knew — but through it all, she loved us with everything she had. We were her life. She lived for her children, always putting us first, no matter what. She was soft in the moments we needed comfort and strong in the moments we didn’t even know we needed protection. She taught us how to keep going, how to fight for ourselves, and how to love with a heart that never gave up.
Her children — Amari, Dominiq, and Johari — were the center of her world. We were her joy, the reason she kept pushing forward no matter how heavy the world felt. She gave us pieces of herself — her strength, her stubbornness, her tenderness — and those pieces will live within us for the rest of our lives.
Brittany wasn’t perfect, but that’s what made her so real. She was human — raw and complicated — but she loved us in a way that was undeniable. She gave what she could, even when it felt like there was nothing left. And in the quiet moments, when the world wasn’t watching, she carried so much more than she ever let on.
She was a character with many characteristics — bold, funny, loving, and unforgettable. She came through for us when we didn’t think we needed it the most. She made sure we were good no matter what. She loved to sing, dance, and be with her children, always sharing her love and energy with everyone around her. She loved her family deeply, all the way down, and she wanted to share that piece of herself with the world. The more you understand her, the more you realize how beautiful that piece really was.
Brittany is preceded by her grandmother Doris Bell and her brothers Demarreo Bell and Deon Bell. She is survived by her children Amari Bell, Johari Bell, and Dominiq King. She is also survived by her mother, Starra Bell-Bickham, her father, Dwayne Bickham, her sister, Breonia Bickham, and her nieces and nephews — Jalynn Busby-Bell, Honest Pate, and Loyal Pate. Her presence will forever be felt by the family and friends who were touched by her love.
Brittany was a real star — bold, unforgettable, and full of love. Her story lives on in every laugh she sparked and every way she loved. She’s still with us, not as a memory but as a part of who we are. She wants us all to shine bright like a star and fly high like a butterfly.
