“Renae”

Alchristi Filmore-Gurley

To the union of Alkenneth and Lacie Filmore came a first-born daughter. We celebrate the life of Renae. All the wonderful things she said, and all beautiful things she did. She lived a very full life as an example of Christ’s Kindness, Love, and Care. She served her church faithfully as an Evangelist. She allowed the Love of God to flow through her toward anyone in need.  Thank you Father for sending an angel to change our lives and our world.

She is leaving behind her children Shafika, Frederick (Bonita), and Edward. Grandchildren Mikhai, Gabriel, and Imani. Her precious mother Lacie Filmore. Siblings Michelle (Bill), Dorcas (Andre) Al (Kristin), and Samuella, Andre Filmore Smith (Nephew) and former Husband George Gurley.

Viewing services will be held 10-6pm Thursday November 12, 2020 at Scott Funeral Home 1215 MLK Jr. Way Tacoma, WA 98405.

I remember when I had first met Ms. Renae, I was this awkward 21 year old and was invited to church, which she was there and made me felt warm and welcoming with the great big hug. I’ll never forget her love, het arms wide to give you those great awesome hugs and devotion to God and her family; I’ll always remember how Ms. Renae would leave me words of encouragements, wisdom, and compliments for whatever I had done on Facebook. She will be greatly missed and will forever be loved in my heart.

I remember meeting miss Renae when I moved into the same apartment complex where I also met Shafika & Eddie. Mrs. Renae was always so sweet and always had a word of encouragement for everyone. Such a sweet lady, you’re going to be missed by so many but never forgotten. Sending Love & Light to the family I will be praying for your strength to get through this time of sorrow, just remember, TO be absent from the body is to be Present with God ❣️

  6. Matciara Finkley says:

Evangelist/Sis Renae you will forever be thought of and missed dearly. You were such a kind and gentle woman. Always humble and encouraging. I appreciated you for your strength and wisdom. You were a woman of great faith. Your voice was very soft but when you would speak on God’s goodness your voice was loud and strong. I’ll miss your singing. You song with such conviction that even as a child I felt every word you song. “In times like these we need a Savior, in times like these we need an anchor. Be very sure, be very very sure,
your anchor holds and grips the Solid, the solid Rock! That Rock is Jesus, He’s the only One.” Jesus! 🙌🏾 We’ll continue to keep your family in our prayers. Love you and your family. Matci

I met Renae at Western State Hospital where we both worked the night shift. She shared many Bible verses with me and became a dear friend. She knew just the right Bible verses to give me knowledge and encouragement. She was a beautiful person inside and out and I am thankful for having known her.
