In Loving Memory

Dewayne Nathaniel McKee entered the world on April 17th, 1996, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, to parents Charles and ShiRhonda McKee. As the youngest of thirteen siblings, he was the baby of the family. On Monday, March 11th, 2024, he peacefully joined the Lord. Dewayne went to school in the University Place School District until junior high, and later attended Truman Middle School and Wilson High School. Growing up in Tacoma’s North End, the twins found solace and joy in spending time at Grandma Mary’s house. Dwight and Dewayne were inseparable. Together with their young cousin Alaijah, they would have been like three peas in a pod at Grandma Mary’s. Dewayne was known for his artistic abilities, passion for gaming, and skill in skate boarding. He was passionate about drawing, especially anime characters, and constantly expressed his desire to pursue a career in tattoo art. Dewayne had the ability to connect to people in a deep and positive way, he was able to spark up a conversation with anyone and would accept people for who they were. Once he regarded you as a friend, he was willing to go above and beyond for you. Dewayne was celebrated for his loyalty and caring demeanor. Dewayne always embraced his true self without hesitation. He openly expressed his emotions and it was clear when he was happy.
It was evident to everyone that he was a romantic at heart. He held his family, his son, his nieces, and his friendships dear above all else. Dewayne was truly special for letting the world see his true self. His infectious smile and rockstar aura will always be cherished,
leaving an everlasting imprint in our hearts. Dewayne is preceded in death by his sister Carmelita Cruz-Stratton and grandfather
Charles Jenkins. Dewayne’s memories will live on forever within our hearts and will physically continue through his son Nathaniel King McKee. His connection with his twin brother, Dwight McKee, will always be intertwined physically, mentally, and spiritually. His love will always remain in the hearts of his father, Charles, and mother, ShiRhonda. Dewayne is also survived by: his grandparents: Mary Lillie, Alfonza Lewis, Richard and Leta Penton. Brothers: David, Raimonte, Michael, Justin and Dwight. Sisters: Bre’Janae, Taliese, Charleta, Ryveal, Tatianna, Alaundra, and Briana. Uncles: Richard and Clemmie. Aunts: Danicka, Regina and Chayniece. Nieces: Zarah, Malayah, Va’Nayah, Elliese,
Arihanna, Inayah, Sanayiah, Stella, Maryland and Zella. Nephew: Uriyah and host of family in Washington and Alabama.
Dewayne will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Celebration  of life to be held 12 noon, Saturday, April 6, 2024  at  Greater Heights Church of God in Christ 4819 South 12th Street Tacoma, WA 98405.
